Kleisterpapier
Paper which has been covered – usually completely – with coloured paste and decorated. A characteristic of paste paper is its clearly recognizable texture. The decoration is made through the resulting alteration of the coloured paste with the tool.

For the production of paste, starches and celluloses among others are used. The differentiation is normally not necessary and without chemical analysis even for specialists not always possible. Often combinations of several design techniques are used. It is therefore not always possible to classify paste papers within a certain subgroup.
